Karate is a Japanese martial art. "Kara" means "empty" and, "te" means hand. It is mostly used for self-defence.
Busshido
Busshido is the art of the Samurai Warrior. It is also a religion. Children are trained at 5 years old. The word "samurai" means "to serve". It was the anceint millitary of Japan.
Food
The most popular foods in Japan are rice and sushi. In Japan they always use chopsticks to eat. Sushi is rice and sometimes fish wrapped up in seaweed.
