Welcome to St. Dominic’s
One of the things I value most in international education is the opportunity to work with families from many different cultural and educational backgrounds. That international perspective and sense of community were some of the things that first attracted me to St Dominic’s.
Mafalda Rocha, Head of Admissions

We welcome applications throughout the year and operate a rolling admissions process. While places may be available at different points during the academic year, admission depends on space availability, the student's year group and programme requirements. Entry into the upper years of the IB programmes is more limited to ensure students are able to successfully meet academic expectations.
Admission decisions are made individually, taking into account each student's academic background, previous school reports and overall educational experience. Depending on the student's age and previous school experience, we may also invite the student to complete an assessment and meet with our Admissions and Academic teams.
As we operate a rolling admissions process, applications are reviewed as they are received, subject to space availability. Our goal is to ensure that each student is well placed to thrive academically and become an active member of the SDIS community.
To apply, families submit the student's ID, the latest available school reports from the current and previous academic year and, where relevant, any additional specialist reports. Once we receive the application, our Admissions team reviews the documentation and, where appropriate, may arrange an assessment and/or meeting with the student and family. We will keep you informed throughout the process and guide you through each step until an admissions decision is made.
Once all required documentation has been received, we begin reviewing the application straight away. Most applications are reviewed within a few working days, although timelines may vary depending on the year group and whether additional information or an assessment is required.
Students are normally placed according to their year of birth. We also carefully consider each student's previous educational experience and academic progress. In some cases, we may recommend a different year group if we believe it will best support the student's academic progress and long-term success.
