St. Dominic’s International School is the only school in Portugal that offers the rewarding Primary Years Programme (PYP).
The PYP is a unique, Trans-Disciplinary approach to learning. Your child will learn to make connections between concepts and understanding across all subjects.
Our Concept based and Inquiry approach to learning, allows students to understand that Math, Science, Language, Art, Music are all connected. Skills, knowledge and understandings are developed in context with real world situations.
At the heart of the PYP is the IB Learner Profile. The Learner Profile is a set of characteristics that are continuously developed from Nursery all the way through to Grade 12.
The Learner Profile exemplifies the development of the whole student, and supports what we, here at St Dominic’s, plan for our students to become: internationally-minded people prepared to make a difference in the world.
